Terms of use
Draft of 6 November 2026 (updated: personal links)
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Sonic Souls (“we”). [LAWYER TO CONFIRM — the legal name of the person or company you're agreeing with.] By using Sonic Souls or creating an account you agree to them. Please also read our privacy notice.
What Sonic Souls is
Sonic Souls turns your Spotify listening history into a timeline of the songs that defined your life, lets you write memories about them, and lets you share your timeline and chosen memories through your personal link. It's a free prototype: features may change or stop, and there may be mistakes. Sonic Souls is not affiliated with or endorsed by Spotify; songs play through Spotify's own player.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 to create an account.
- Sign-in links are personal: don't share them. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from your timeline page. This permanently deletes everything in it.
Your memories and content
- Your memories belong to you. You let us store them and, for memories you make visible, show them to your friends and anyone with your link, only so we can run Sonic Souls. That permission ends when you delete them or your account.
- Only upload your own Spotify history.
Please don't
- Write anything illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening or sexually explicit, or anything that isn't yours to share.
- Include other people's personal details (memories can't contain links, emails or phone numbers for this reason).
- Try to access other people's accounts or timelines, overload the service, or get around its security or limits.
- Use Sonic Souls to advertise or to collect data about other people.
We may remove content or close accounts that break these rules. To report something, contact sonicsouls@shorland.co.
No guarantees
[LAWYER TO DRAFT — e.g. Sonic Souls is provided “as is”, without warranties; we're not liable for indirect losses or for losing data; nothing limits liability that can't legally be limited (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud), and your statutory consumer rights are not affected.]
Changes and ending
We may update these terms; we'll change the date at the top and show a notice on the site about important changes. You can stop using Sonic Souls at any time. We may suspend or stop the service [with reasonable notice where possible].
